TOPIC #2 – Accountants Licensing Exemption Ends 1 July 2016 – Act NOW!

A word of warning from ASIC…..

“Applications that have been lodged with ASIC, but have not yet been approved on the 30^th June 2016 will mean that you will need to cease SMSF advice activities that require an AFSL until such time as your application has been approved. ASIC strongly recommends that you do not leave your application to the months leading up to the 30^th June 2016.”

So what is the purpose of this channel ?

Its an exciting time to be in business but whether you are running a small business or an accounting firm advising small businesses you do find that you are pushed for time. There just isn’t enough time to wade through the multitude of important updates and announcements being released every week.

So my aim is to sort through the noise & bring to you what you need to know. The key to my posts though are that they are only ever 90 seconds long (in terms of the content). They are short & sharp and give you enough information to stay on top of the constant changes affecting your business & industry.

My day to day life as a director at Aptus Accounting & Advisory, as Xero’s Head of Accounting and as a lecturer at Macquarie University gives me a unique perspective on what is affecting SME’s as well as those professionals  advising them. This means I can bring to you updates from all these different angles.
